Snake's Head Fritillary, or Fritillaria meleagris, features incredible flowers with a red and white checker pattern that makes it look almost exactly like snake skin! They're exceptionally deer-resistant, too.
This is a woodland bulb that's among the first flowers to appear in spring. We have these planted around The Ranch, and we look forward to them every single year!
- LIGHT: Partial sun; partial shade
- WATER: Water deeply and thoroughly when the top couple inches of soil dries.
- ZONE: Winter-hardy perennial; winter-hardy in zones 3-8
